The University of Alabama at Huntsville hosted the 53rd annual meeting of the Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics on Saturday, February 15, 2003.

The 2003 Alabama annual MAA dinner was hosted on the evening of February 14, 2003, also at UAH. The guest speaker for this year's dinner was is Prof. Joseph Neggers on the topic: "What is a Fuzzy Random Variable?"

The program also included our annual Lewis-Parker Lecture, an invited presentation by a prominent local research mathematician, on a topic selected by the Lecturer. The 2003 Lewis-Parker Lecturer was Prof. Olav Kallenberg of Auburn University, speaking on "The Basic Symmetries of Probability Theory."
